WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — In the City View Mustang’s match-up against the Iowa Park Hawks, Desmond Whiteside recorded five touchdowns.

“They gave Desmond a lot of one on one situations with no help, and they were able to capitalize,” head coach Heath Aldrich said.

Five of his eight receptions in the game resulted in touchdowns.

In his Madden-like game, one could assume he was feeling better than 100 percent.

“I did not do anything special, I actually felt bad the day before,” wide receiver Desmond Whiteside said.

“This was kind of like your M.J. flu game,” sports reporter Ariel Reed said.

    “Yeah, flu game,” Whiteside said.

Aldrich believes Whiteside’s ability to shine was his connection with their QB-1.

“Malachi and Des are two special players, and they have a good connection to one another,” Aldrich said.

“Desmond and I had a great connection that game,” quarterback Malachi Williams said. “When I give my receivers the ball, I know they will make a play.”

Williams and Whiteside’s field chemistry is no surprise, considering the two have been friends since Whiteside stepped foot on City View’s campus.

In one game, Whiteside nearly matched his total receiving yards through three weeks with 194 receiving yards.

Williams threw for 300 yards— more than his three previous weeks combined.
