QUANAH ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Quanah High School can now add “blue ribbon school” to its list of achievements.

Quanah High is one of only 31 schools in Texas to receive this recognition. This award celebrates schools where students perform at high levels or demonstrate significant improvement.

Quanah High’s success is rooted in a commitment to providing a well-rounded education and focusing on fostering a sense of community within the school.

Principal Mills said there’s no secret recipe or program that led to their success; it’s about working hard as a team and consistently maintaining a great school culture.

With Quanah High and Archer City Elementary both being selected as standout schools for the state of Texas, principal Mills hopes this sheds light on how good rural schools can be.

“We have limited resources in rural schools, and a lot of times we struggle to get teachers sometimes because we’re not close enough to a larger metropolitan area, but this should shed some light on the fact of how good rural schools can be like we can be just as good as anybody else. And so that’s really big for the community to know that, hey, we got a great school here,” Mills said.

As Quanah High School continues to celebrate this achievement, it remains focused on building upon their success.
