WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The Burn Shop is hosting its third annual “Block Party & Steak Cook-Off” on Saturday, Sep. 28, in downtown Wichita Falls.

The community can expect to come out and have all senses satisfied with great food, fun activities and live entertainment.

This year’s event features a cook-off sanctioned by the Steak Cookoff Association, a mouthwatering steak dinner, and live entertainment featuring several bands.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the highly anticipated steak cook-off will feature 54 teams competing on the grills for a cash prize and a trophy hand-made by the Burn Shop.

Immediately after, the gates will open for the various bands to start getting the crowd pumped up for the headliner, Kolby Cooper.

If you’ve already purchased meal tickets, you can enjoy a delicious steak dinner cooked by the Burn Shop’s live fire team at 7 p.m. Though the steak dinner tickets are sold out, there will still be a variety of food trucks available to purchase from.

Event chair Amanda Culley said they’re excited to bring something back to the community and include live events that benefit great causes.

“[We just wanted to] bring some excitement to the downtown community and also give back at the same time for a good cause,” she said. “So, the block party benefits the Wichita Falls Police Officer’s Association and the Wichita Falls Professional Firefighters.”

Event tickets start at $25 and can be purchased online or at the doors.
