WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Twice a year, Just Between Friends shows up to make life easier for new families looking to feed, clothe and entertain their kids.

How do they do it? Co-owner of the Wichita Falls branch, Carrie Bloom, said they sell items from families who have too much or have outgrown some of the items their kids used to use.

“We provide a marketplace for local families to sell their outgrown, unused children’s items to other local families,” Bloom said. “We have everything that a kid will need from newborn to teen, along with furniture and household items.”

Bloom runs the Wichita Falls chapter of Just Between Friends with her son, Seth. He helps out his mom because he believes in the cycle Just Between Friends involves—where families who have outgrown clothes or toys and sell their items for reduced prices to families in need.

“This is a great way to help people out,” Seth said. “People make money for their families; we help the shoppers out. They can buy a bunch of stuff for a lot off retail [price], and obviously the donations, they go out to help all the charities and stuff.”

Tiffany Walls understands the challenge of clothing and feeding kids all too well. She’s going to be a grandmother later this year. For her and her daughter, the mom-to-be, the Just Between Friends pop-up is timed perfectly. Any purchase made there can save money for the new family down the line.

“You can save a lot of money,” Walls said. “I mean, like on the necessities you have to have, like the strollers the car seats, you know brand new those things are expensive. So, saving that money will be helpful in the long run.”

Though so much will be bought from the pop-up, not everything will be sold. The solution from Just Between Friends is donating the rest to churches and other organizations so no family goes without the essentials.

The pop-up will be open from Oct. 3 through Oct. 5 and will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Sikes Senter Mall parking lot in the former Dillard’s clothing store.
