ELECTRA ( KFDX/KJTL ) — An update on the animal seizure last month from an Electra home: the Electra Animal Control center has been granted final custody of all 23 dogs and cats that were seized from Aariyah Robinson and her mother, Dyana Robinson, on East Summit Street in Electra.

When Justice of the Peace Judy Baker made her ruling, witnesses say Aaliyah became very upset and, quote, “lost control and made a scene” in the courtroom.

After police discovered the conditions and animals inside the house, they notified Electra Animal Control, which seized 19 dogs and 4 cats and took 10 dead animals from a freezer.

The women are also charged with child endangerment stemming from two children found living in unsafe conditions inside the house.

Now that Electra Animal Control has custody of the animals, they need all the help they can get by finding foster families or families looking to adopt any of the animals.

Electra Animal Control officer Kari Banahan says getting these animals adopted will not only help lighten their load, but you’ll also be saving these animals’ lives.

“That’s why I said it’s bittersweet. Because some of these animals we worked so hard to save are going to end up having to be euthanized. If we don’t find fosters, if we don’t find rescues, that’s going to be the alternative,” Banahan said.

While they continue to look for forever families for these animals, they are still in desperate need of donations such as puppy pads, cleaning supplies, food, or monetary donations.
