Vacant call center burglar sentenced

WICHITA FALLS ( KFX/KJTL ) — A man with 22 arrests and numerous theft convictions is sentenced to a year in state jail after he was found inside a vacant Wichita Falls call center building in which copper wiring and pipes were being removed.

Brandon Jackson pleaded guilty in 30th District Court and was sentenced to a year in a state jail.

An officer was making checks last April of the building in the 2200 block of Airport Drive, where numerous break-ins had been reported.

He found a door pried open, several large piles of copper wiring stacked by the door and two canvas bags containing power tools that could be used to remove electrical wiring and pipes. Police made a search of the building and said Jackson was found hiding in a dark room.

Jackson’s 22 arrests include several convictions for thefts.
