WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A man authorities said threatened to kill everyone at a Wichita Falls school has been speedily indicted by a grand jury and remains jailed on an $800,000 bond.

The indictment alleges David Lee Codd made threats to commit violence against a substantial group of the public by aggravated assault or murder.

Codd posted his original $50,000 bond after his arrest in September, then was rearrested on the higher bond after authorities said he purchased an assault-style rifle online.

Police said he was arrested before picking up the rifle at a local store.

According to witness statements they obtained, the district attorney’s office requested a higher bond because Codd posed an extreme risk and was volatile.

City and school district police said he called Barwise school and made the threats after his son called him from the school office about an incident earlier in the school cafeteria.
