WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — As Hurricane Milton is set to make landfall, a large Texoma organization prepares to head to Florida Wednesday morning to provide disaster relief for those in need.

Rancher Navy Spokesman Garrett Duvall said they are still in need of items like chainsaws, generators, and, most importantly, prayers as he and several other Rancher Navy members prepare to run straight toward danger while hundreds of thousands are fleeing from devastation.

Duvall is no stranger to dangerous situations. We first talked with him during the massive panhandle fires when his picture of Ash the Cow went viral this summer .

Now, he’s preparing to head back into the face of danger.

“We’re heading to Florida as we’re preparing for widespread flooding and the devastation. The mission at Rancher Navy is to provide critical care and relief for the farmers, the ranchers, and the agriculture community throughout the devastated relief areas,” Duvall said.

And it’s all part of the newly formed Rancher Navy organization.

“It was originally founded in 2022 to help farmers and ranchers throughout Texas. With wildfires now, it has spread to all across the nation,” Duvall said. “We help, you know, anywhere with those wildfires, any kind of disaster relief [from] tornadoes, obviously, hurricanes, now flooding,” Duvall said.

And with hundreds of thousands of residents still picking up the pieces from Hurricane Helene’s widespread destruction less than two weeks ago, Duvall said he’s prepared for the worst in the face of Milton’s growing strength.

“People are stranded—animals, people that are still stranded. We do have several trucks already in locations in North Carolina and Florida,” Duvall said. “So we’re expecting to get there and basically go to work trying to clean up the disaster areas and then get feed to these animals and get the best of humans and necessities to these people that need it.”

But Duvall said they can’t do it alone.

“Right now, the main thing we’re looking for is tools. Such as generators, chainsaws—anything that we can use to clear roads, clear routes,” he said. “Once we get to these stranded animals or stranded people, we are needing basic human necessities. And then also, cattle feed, horse feed, cat and dog food.”

And most importantly, prayers, as these brave men and women race towards danger, providing some much-needed help to hundreds of thousands of hurricane victims.
