WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Sunny skies and temperatures into the 90s for the afternoon, and that pattern will continue for the majority of the week and into the weekend. Winds will start to increase on Wednesday, with some breezy conditions expected for Thursday. Those winds will be out of the south, pulling those afternoon high temperatures up into the mid-90s towards the end of the week and into the weekend ahead of next week’s cold front.

Wednesday and Thursday morning will see some very, very, very, very isolated rain chances move into the region from the northwest. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will mostly stay off to the north in Central Oklahoma, but a few could drift further south and hang on long enough to drop a few raindrops across Texoma.

Those lucky few getting some rain will stay along the northeastern parts of Texoma along the Lawton and Duncan areas. The rain chances stay as low as possible as shower and storm activity will begin to weaken and dissipate as they move into the region. Some showers and storms will end up falling apart at the doorstep.

It will be hot for the weekend, as temperatures will make a run at some last-second 100s on Saturday. Temperatures will likely reach up into the upper 90s and low 100s, but that will come to an end on Sunday, as a strong cold front is poised to arrive late Sunday and into the early morning hours on Monday. Fall should arrive on October 14.
