WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A man who led deputies on a winding car chase last April in Wichita Falls, then was tased as he ran on foot, makes a plea deal.

Raul Flores, 34, pleaded guilty in 89th District Court this morning, October 10, 2024, to evading and a separate felon in possession of a firearm charge in 2023.

Appeal court affirms capital murder conviction of Tajmon Robinson

His plea bargain on both charges was 3 years in prison, which will be served as one sentence.

A Wichita County deputy tried to make a traffic violation stop of Flores’ vehicle at Southwest Parkway and Professional Drive last April.

He said Flores did not pull over and continued west on Southwest Parkway, past Elmwood, and past another sheriff’s unit that had its siren and flashing lights activated.

Flores then turned north on Rhea Road past Call Field and went north on Lawrence Road, going around another sheriff’s unit. He then turned onto Lebanon, then onto Lexington, back to Lawrence, and then onto Lafayette, south on Sherman, and back on to Lawrence until he pulled into a driveway in the 2900 block, where he got out and ran toward the front door.

Deputies yelled at him to stop, then one fired his taser barb into his back, but they said Flores made it inside and locked the door.

They began to kick in the door when a woman, later identified as Flores’ mother, opened it and let them in. They found Flores inside with one of the taser barbs still in his back and took him into custody without further incident.

Flores also pleaded guilty to a felon in possession of a firearm charge in 2023, in which police found a handgun in his car after a traffic stop.

He was previously convicted of felon in possession of a firearm in 2013.
