WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A major freeway in Wichita Falls is closed as crews respond to reports of multiple crashes on Friday evening.

Multiple agencies, including the Wichita Falls Police Department and the Wichita Falls Fire Department, responded to at least three wrecks on Kell Freeway West on Friday, October 11, 2024, beginning just after 5 p.m.

According to our crew on the scene, the westbound lanes of the freeway are closed beginning at Harrison Street, causing major traffic delays as authorities respond to three separate accidents.

As of 5:50 p.m., traffic appears to be backed up from Harrison Street, onto the flyover and on Central Freeway.
