WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A man charged with transporting fentanyl from the Metroplex to be sold in Wichita Falls is back in jail a third time since June after prosecutors asked for and were granted a new bond.

David Everett was jailed on another $500,000 bond Friday, Oct. 11, 2024, after posting his first $500,000 bond on Sept. 10 and a $100,000 bond on June 6.

In their motion to declare his existing bond insufficient, prosecutors said Everett was arrested in June for a complex trafficking operation moving large amounts of Fentanyl from the Metroplex into Wichita Falls and was armed with a handgun.

He was then arrested in September when police found fentanyl in a car he and several others were in.

On Oct. 2, prosecutors told Everett’s attorney he was in violation of bond conditions and to have him report to the Adult Probation Office, where a urinalysis was made, and it tested positive for fentanyl.

The motion stated that the alleged drug trafficker is wholly disregarding the court’s bond conditions, and the court should declare his fond insufficient for the safety of the community.

The D.A.’s Drug Enforcement Division made the first arrest in June after putting Everett and others under surveillance. They say they found more than 3,000 fentanyl pills in their car when it came back into Wichita Falls from the Metroplex.
