Two dead, five critical after Wise County crash

WISE CO. ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A crash Saturday evening killed two and sent five others to the hospital.

The crash occurred just after 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, on U.S. 81/287 near Alvord.

Preliminary investigation shows that one vehicle with four occupants was traveling northbound when it left the roadway, crossed the grassy median, and drove into the southbound lane of U.S. 287, where it struck another vehicle that was traveling southbound with three occupants.

According to The Messenger , two people were pronounced dead, and five medical helicopters transported the others to metroplex hospitals, including one to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth. Wise County EMS Chief Randell Prueninger said all transported patients were in critical condition.

The victims’ identities have no yet been released. This story will be updated as more information is available.
