Jerry Jones turned 82 years old, and despite the Cowboys being 7-0 all time in home games on Jerry’s birthday, his football team could not provide a gift in the form of victory.

With this loss the Cowboys are now 3-3 on the season, 0-3 at home.

It’s the first time since 2010 Dallas opened the season with losses in each of its first 3 home games.

“3 good football teams have come in here and played well against us,” head coach Mike McCarthy said. “That is the NFL, its not who you play its when you play them. This is a good experience with some rough moments, and obviously this was a rough moment.”

A harsh turnaround from the last two seasons where America’s Team had a 16 game regular season unbeaten streak inside this their building.

“It doesn’t matter if you play home, away or in the parking lot. If you give away the ball five times and not taking it away, you aren’t going to win many games,” McCarthy said.

There was a familiar face in Arlington, JT Barrett dawning the baby blue. He is in his third season as an assistant quarterbacks coach for the Lions.

Local high school football fans will remember Barrett from his days as a quarterback at Rider. He went on to become an all-time great at Ohio State, winning a national title with the Buckeyes in 2015. A game that was actually played in the friendly confines of AT&T Stadium.

To this day, JT still holds many Ohio State records. He is the program’s all-time passing leader in yards and touchdowns.

After college, JT spent three years bouncing around the NFL on different practice squad and now he’s coaching in the league.
