COMANCHE COUNTY ( KFDX/KJTL ) — The Comanche County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Stephens County man.

Police release victim’s name from I-44 fatal

It happened on Monday just before 8:15 p.m. at Northeast Cache Road and Northeast 180th Street, about eight miles east of Lawton.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials say 48-year-old Todd Cox, of Marlow, was driving a 1993 Jeep Wrangler eastbound on Northeast Cache Road and hit a calf. His jeep then left the roadway to the left and rolled an unknown number of times before going through a fence and ejecting Cox.

OHP said Cox was pronounced deceased by the Comanche County Sheriff’s Department. Authorities say he was not wearing a seatbelt.
