    Driver killed in single-vehicle crash in Wichita Falls

    WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Wichita Falls Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning.

    Officers responded to the scene just after 4 a.m. on October 20, 2024, following reports of a vehicle wreck at Sheppard Access Road and North Scott Avenue intersection.

    LOCAL CRIME: Final preparations for Patterson trial are a go

    According to police, a blue minivan or SUV traveling southbound on Sheppard Access Road failed to stop at a stop sign, colliding with a concrete barricade, killing the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle.

    Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of the next of kin. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

    if that is the vehicle in the picture we can't see all around it but it doesn't appear to have the kind of damage you would expect to see with someone being killed. I'm not standing there but these newer vehicles have airbags that pop out from everywhere. I don't even see a sign of where they may have had to cut it up to get someone out. well whatever happens I'm sorry for the family. I'm sure there is someone hurting from losing a loved one

    the city won't view this as i.portant for quality of life. like alm of us imon the Northside of town that were annexed almost 25 yrs ago and still don't have city water. even thobwe were annexed to keel the city population over 100k. that's the population cutoff for many federal programs they rely on
