Special Olympics Indiana urgently needs more coaches to support their expanding roster of athletes. Humans have a fundamental need to be around other humans. As a child, I don't think there was any greater emotional pain than being excluded from an activity or game with peers. It's a sting that lingers, and one that can really ding your self-worth. Inclusion matters, as highlighted in the Special Olympics mission statement. The organization has been empowering athletes for decades, specifically those with intellectual disabilities.
