Keep an eye on this name as a candidate to become the Cardinals' next hitting coach
While we don't know for sure what the St. Louis Cardinals will do regarding the employment status of hitting coach Turner Ward following the 2024 season, it does feel like we are trending toward the club making a change at the position this offseason. While there are internal names that...
Last offseason's tired narrative won't suffice for the Cardinals in 2025
The Cardinals season is careening right before our eyes. After surging from nine games below .500 to six games over from Mother's Day to July, things have taken another downward turn. Now, the Cardinals are looking at back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since 1994-95. This hasn't happened in full seasons for the Cardinals since 1958-59, and back then, the regular season schedule wasn't even 162 games.

OAK GROVE, Mo. — There were way more pros than cons for Ryan Schartz in taking over as head football coach at Oak Grove. "I live five minutes from here," said Schartz, first-year head coach of the Panthers. He's also got two sons on the team, which was a...

Out-of-state St. Louis school hires lack required certification; 11 hires more than $2M a year
The hires involve people not from Missouri or even the Midwest, most with salaries that exceed the maximum pay under the previous administration. We also found that only one of the candidates appears to have met a key requirement listed on the offer letter.

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A 24-year-old Farmington man lost his life early Saturday morning when his pickup truck collided with a tree and a house. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal accident, which occurred at 3:50 a.m. on 100 Trap Rock Road in St. Francois County. The victim, Joshua D. Zaricor, was driving a 2015 GMC Sierra at the time of the crash.
St. Louis Cardinals season is literally under water after latest travel disaster
Whatever good vibes the St. Louis Cardinals had after their brief three-game winning streak vanished on Saturday, as they lost 6-1 against the Minnesota Twins. Sonny Gray had a chance to not only keep the good times rolling for his team as they attempt to make an unlikely run to the postseason, but he had a chance to beat his former team as well. He wound up allowing five runs in six innings of work and was outpitched by Pablo Lopez who kept the Cardinals off the board entirely. St. Louis lost 6-0 and fell back below the .500 mark. The cherry on top was the Cardinals losing star catcher Willson Contreras due to injury.

The De Soto City Council voted 5-0 Monday to authorize City Manager Todd Melkus to purchase the four properties, seven months after the city was notified that it had been awarded state and federal funds and after completing the monthslong appraisal process.

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Sunday that they’ve waived six players ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man roster deadline, including Speaks. The 28-year-old Speaks joined the Jaguars earlier this month after finishing his second year playing spring football with the Michigan Panthers.

The Kansas City Chiefs are going into the 2024 season with all the confidence in the world that they will be able to repeat as Super Bowl Champions three times in a row. Ed Kelce Recalls Being ‘Surprised’ By Son Travis Kelce’s Wisdom Over Holiday Album
Ed Kelce recalled son Travis Kelce’s inspiring attitude when the Kansas City Chiefs tight end teamed up with brother Jason Kelce for a holiday album. “He was talking about, ‘These things aren’t in my wheelhouse. The Doobie Brothers Came to Play and Fans Came to Listen to the Music and Reminisce
The pink and lavender hues folded into the night sky as The Doobie Brothers took to the stage at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis County at 8:30 p.m. on this warm Saturday night. The older crowd rose to their feet cheering and clapping. The band got down to business kicking off their 105-minute set with the classic cover of Eddie Holland’s “Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me a Little While)” and then slid into “Here to Love You.”
The Jefferson Bank Protest-a flashpoint in the St. Louis Civil Rights Movement
The decision to end the Jefferson Bank Commemorative Protest was an agonizing one for me. I respect the rationale shared by those closest to the initial protest to find more creative and relevant ways to memorialize the protest that still reverberates with those in the ongoing struggle for basic human rights for Black workers. The way the white power structure (as it was called in back in the day) linked arms to crush the protest rarely gets attention. It is a valuable case study for those who want to fight seriously for transformative change. You cannot underestimate the power of your oppressors.
