Lower than usual unemployment rate for February
The February unemployment rate reached an unusual low for the month of February. Day of Hope
This year, the Monroe County Prevention & Wellness Coalition and Monroe County Health Council celebrated Tennessee’s fifth annual Day of Hope by holding a food drive with the hopes of filling all the blessing boxes in Monroe County. Volunteer Federal Savings Bank joined the initiative by serving as host drop-off locations at all six of their branch locations. Thanks to the outpouring of support from the community, all of the blessing boxes in Monroe County were able to be stocked with items donated through the food drive. Sweetwater Kiwanis learns about beekeeping
Scott Venable with the Monroe County Beekeepers Association was the guest speaker at the Sweetwater Kiwanis Club meeting on March 21.
