Alfreda Sheppard named U.S. Magistrate Judge for Middle District of Georgia

ALBANY – Members of the state Merit Selection Panel as well as the District Court judges for the Middle District of Georgia have selected Alfreda Shepard to serve as the new United States Magistrate Judge for the Middle District of Georgia's Albany Division.

Sheppard, who has worked for the Albany-based Watson Spence firm, will succeed retiring Magistrate Judge Thomas Q. Langstaff. She will conclude her role as a partner at Watson Spence at the end of this year and will officially begin her eight-year judicial term on Jan. 4.
