WEITZEL CELEBRATION OF LIFE – A celebration of life is planned at noon Aug. 24 for John Weitzel; his wife, Annelu “Dixie” Weitzel; and their son, Lorman Bruce Weitzel, at Alliance Area Senior Center, 602 W. Vine St. in Alliance. The event will feature a 45-minute program, followed by lunch and time to mingle. The event will be live-streamed at this shortened link, tinyurl.com/ahsjwsr.

MARLINGTON BOARD – Marlington Local Schools Board of Education plans a work session at 5 p.m. Aug. 15 in the Marlington High School Digital Learning Zone, 10450 Moulin Ave. in Lexington Township. Among topics to be discussed are the district’s strategic plan, staffing, goals and finances. The board plans a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in the same place. The board will recess into executive session during the meeting. Purpose of the session is listed as to consider the employment and compensation of public employees and conferences with the board's legal counsel concerning pending or imminent court action. Following the executive session, action might be taken. Pending technological issues, the meeting will be live-streamed on the Marlington Local Schools Technology Department’s YouTube page.
