The Augusta area's most familiar retro diner wants your help in celebrating its 60th anniversary.

North Augusta's Sno-Cap Drive-In is celebrating its diamond anniversary on Thursday with a 60th Birthday Bop and Drive-In Movie Night at the restaurant, 618 West Ave. The event starts at 7 p.m.

Customers are encouraged to dress in 1960s-style clothes while they enjoy their meals and $1 ice cream cones.

The Sno-Cap also is screening a free showing of The Hill, the 2023 inspirational sports drama starring Dennis Quaid that filmed in several Augusta-area locations, particularly the Sno-Cap's 1950s and 1960s exterior and décor.

The first 60 people to visit will receive free T-shirts.

Augusta's Fat Man’s Café Hospitality Group, run by the Usry family, bought the Sno-Cap from the Franklin family in 2019. In 2023, the Sno-Cap was awarded a $40,000 historic preservation grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation's "Backing Historic Small Restaurants" program.

The Sno-Cap party coincides with downtown North Augusta's monthly Third Thursday celebrations.
