May 27 is Memorial Day, a time for celebrating and honoring service members both past and present. For many families, it also offers a rare long, three-day-long weekend for having fun and getting some much needed rest and relaxation.

Many swimming pools, splash pads, and other aquatic attractions reopen on Memorial Day. There's plenty more outdoor activities including concerts and music festivals as well as farmers markets and a party or two.
