The Columbia County Sheriff's Office is investigating seven separate instances of circuit breaker and drywall thefts from homes under construction in Grovetown.

All of the incidents occurred sometime over the weekend and were reported Monday, according to the sheriff's office.

Bill Beazley Homes reported three circuit breaker thefts at homes on Dublin Loop and Pierwood Construction reported one drywall theft at a home on the same street, according to incident reports.

In all instances of the circuit breaker thefts, the thieves apparently broke into the homes' garages, unscrewed the breaker boxes from the walls and cut the wires with a sharp tool, according to the reports.

Dozens of circuit breakers were reportedly stolen from each home, resulting in a nearly $8,000 in combined losses across the construction companies, deputies noted in the reports. The 34 sheets of drywall stolen from a Dublin Loop home accounted for more than $1,000 in losses.

In addition to the seven thefts, Ivey Homes reported windows were stolen on Tuesday from a home under construction on Sinclair Drive by suspects in a box truck during the day, according to the reports.
