Columbia County announces new lane closure, extension of lane closure on Furys Ferry Road

Columbia County recently announced temporary lane closures on Ronald Reagan Drive and an extension of temporary lane closures on Furys Ferry Road.

The closure on Ronald Reagan Drive will affect the right turn lane from Ronald Reagan Drive onto Norwood Drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. starting Monday, according to a news release from the county.

Drivers should expect delays and seek an alternate route if possible, according to the release.

The lane closure extensions on Furys Ferry Road will affect the intersections of Blackstone Camp, Sullivan Hartfield, Malone Way, Southern Pines and Oleander Drive from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. through Aug. 23, according to the release.

The closures are associated with the road widening project for Furys Ferry Road, according to the county.

"Whenever you approach a work zone: slow down; allow extra distance between vehicles; watch for advanced warning signs; obey road crew flaggers; and expect the unexpected," according to the release. "If possible, please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting during this timeframe."
