    GDOT announces lane closures this weekend on I-20 at Georgia-South Carolina state line

    The Georgia Department of Transportation announced multiple lane closures will take place over the weekend as part of the I-20 at Savannah River Bridge project.

    The closures will be in effect on the following days, according to GDOT:

    • 10 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday: Nighttime, single-lane closure on I-20 west from mile marker 1 in South Carolina to mile marker 200 in Georgia. The westbound, left-hand lane will close at 10 p.m. Friday and reopen at 6 a.m. Saturday.
    • 8 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Sunday: Nighttime, single-lane closure on I-20 west from mile marker 1 in South Carolina to mile marker 200 in Georgia. The westbound, left-hand lane will close at 8 p.m. Saturday reopen at 6 a.m. Sunday.
    • 9 p.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. Monday: Nighttime, single-lane closure on I-20 west from mile marker 1 in South Carolina to mile marker 200 in Georgia. The westbound, left-hand lane will close at 9 p.m. Sunday and reopen at 6 a.m. Monday.

    During the closures, the shoulders of I-20 east and west may also be impacted, according to GDOT. Motorists are advised to expect delays and drive with caution through the work zone.
