    Area Walmart stores offering relief amenities to storm victims

    HIGH COUNTRY — Walmart stores in both Boone and Spruce Pine are offering victims affected by Hurricane Helene amenities at no cost at their locations.

    The Walmart Supercenter #2496 located at 200 Watauga Village in Boone is offering portable restrooms, laundry, showers, and water. The water distribution is in partnership with the Red Cross, beginning at 2 p.m.

    In Spruce Pine, the Walmart Supercenter #2749, located at 2514 Halltown Road is providing portable restrooms, laundry, showers, WiFi hotspot and charging stations via Information Technology Disaster Resource Center Mobile Units, and water distribution beginning at 11:30 a.m.
