Maryland State Police arrested a Pennsylvania man on Wednesday in connection with a road rage incident in Frederick County.

The 37-year-old man is charged with attempted murder, use of a gun in the commission of a felony and other related offenses, according to a news release from state police.

State troopers from the Frederick Barrack responded shortly after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday to the area of southbound U.S. 15 at Tippin Drive for a reported road rage incident involving shots fired.

Troopers found bullet holes in the passenger compartment of the victim’s vehicle, but the victim wasn’t injured, the release says.

The victim called 911 and described the suspect’s vehicle as a maroon Chevrolet SUV with Pennsylvania tags. A lookout was given to police in the area.

State police found the suspect’s vehicle parked unoccupied at a business in Thurmont. While the suspect was inside, they searched his vehicle and found a loaded 9mm handgun and a spent shell casing of the same caliber, the release says.

The suspect was taken to the Frederick Barrack for processing and is scheduled for a bail review hearing Thursday afternoon.
