MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Crawford Park in Mishawaka celebrated its grand reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday morning, showcasing significant accessibility improvements and new amenities.

The remodeled park now boasts a wetland area, a scenic walkway, and an innovative play area designed to accommodate children of all abilities. The updated park also features pavilions and a new small parking lot, ensuring ample space for visitors.

Phil Blasko, Mishawaka Parks Superintendent, highlighted the inclusive design elements of the new playground. "We have wheelchair accessibility, a braille wall, sign language features, and musical instruments. We made sure that any child, regardless of ability, feels welcome at our park," Blasko stated.

Additionally, more restrooms have been installed, which will also serve visitors at the nearby Japanese Garden, enhancing convenience for all park-goers.

Crawford Park’s renovation reflects a commitment to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for the entire community, promoting enjoyment and engagement for children and families alike.
