Elkhart Educator Honored as Indiana Middle School Counselor of the Year

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. — Pierre Moran Middle School’s very own Timothy Adams has been named the Indiana Middle School Counselor of the Year by the Indiana School Counselors Association (ISCA), a prestigious recognition for his exceptional dedication and service to students.

Adams, whose commitment to his students and the school community is widely recognized, humbly credited the collective effort of his colleagues. “My philosophy has always been ‘it’s not me, it’s we,’" Adams shared. “As a building, as a team, it’s always ‘us.’ Thank you so much for this honor.”

The ISCA award highlights counselors who demonstrate outstanding service to their students and achieve professional excellence. Adams' dedication to fostering a supportive environment at Pierre Moran Middle School has earned him this distinguished accolade.

Adams now advances as one of three finalists for the overall Indiana School Counselor of the Year award, competing alongside the Indiana Elementary School Counselor of the Year and the Indiana High School Counselor of the Year. The winner will be revealed at the ISCA Conference in November.

This recognition underscores the vital role that school counselors play in shaping the futures of students across Indiana, with Adams leading the way in Elkhart.
