Mishawaka, Indiana, became a beacon of hope and solidarity this past weekend as it hosted the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest fundraiser dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. The event, held on Sunday afternoon, saw an impressive turnout of over 300 participants, all coming together to support a crucial cause.

The walk, a key event in the ongoing fight against Alzheimer’s disease, successfully raised more than $60,000. These funds will significantly contribute to advancing research, enhancing care, and providing support for those affected by the disease.

Julie Moore, Senior Director of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, shared her enduring passion for the event, saying, “I’ve done it for a long time, but every event feels like the first time. That feeling never gets old. You know, we do this year-round. We raise these funds and we activate our communities year-round, but this is the culmination of all of our efforts and a celebration, and it feels so good to be with the community.”

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s serves as both a fundraiser and a vibrant community gathering, symbolizing collective hope and determination in the fight against Alzheimer’s. The generosity and spirit of Mishawaka’s residents shone brightly, underscoring their commitment to making a difference in the lives of those impacted by the disease.
