SOUTH BEND, Ind. — As the golden hues of summer begin to fade, South Bend has embraced a new tradition with the debut of Septemberfest, a festival that brings the charm of a classic fair to the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds.

This inaugural event, running through Sunday, has transformed the fairgrounds into a vibrant tapestry of fun and flavor. With a relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of a fair without the overwhelming crowds, Septemberfest offers a refreshing taste of autumn’s early days.

Festivalgoers have flocked to the fairgrounds to savor the familiar delights of fair rides and indulge in mouthwatering fair food. From thrilling rides that twirl and spin to the comforting aromas of popcorn and cotton candy, Septemberfest has provided a nostalgic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The festival, which wraps up its three-day run this Sunday, welcomes guests from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., promising a final taste of summer’s magic before the season’s end. The event has quickly become a local favorite, celebrating community spirit and the simple joys of traditional fair festivities.

Bill Schalliol, St. Joseph County Economic Development Director, noted, “Septemberfest is not just about enjoying rides and food; it's about connecting with our community and making memories that last beyond the season.”

As the sun sets on Septemberfest, South Bend bids a warm farewell to summer with a festival that has captured the essence of fair season in its purest, most enjoyable form.
