SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The 9th annual Graff Bash brought a surge of creativity and color to South Bend this weekend, transforming the walls of Rio Park Event Center, Lou's Beauty and Barber College, and other parts of the River Park neighborhood into vibrant displays of public art.

The event, which celebrates the beauty and artistry of graffiti and mural work, drew artists from across the region to contribute to the beautification of the community. With spray cans in hand, these artists transformed otherwise blank walls into stunning works of art that now add life and character to the area.

Alex Van Galder, President of Graff Bash, highlighted the dual benefit of the event, saying, “Being involved in this event allows artists as well as businesses to give back to the community and provide public art, and it provides artists with the chance to give back to the community as well as platform their work.” The event serves as a platform for local and visiting artists to showcase their talents, while also leaving a lasting, positive impact on the neighborhood.

Graff Bash organizers, who raise funds annually to make the event possible, continue to emphasize the role public art plays in revitalizing and beautifying South Bend’s communities, making art accessible to everyone who walks by.
