INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Week 6 of IHSAA football saw a mix of delays, rescheduled games, and thrilling action as Hurricane Helene’s remnants brought torrential rain and wind to Central Indiana. Friday night’s weather forced many schools to push their games to Saturday, leading to a rare all-day football affair. Despite the conditions, teams battled through, showing resilience and heart across the board.

Here are the key results and highlights:

    Decatur Central 42, Plainfield 21
Decatur Central secured a decisive victory, led by standout performances from Kasmir Hicks and Fa’rel Carter. Hicks, in particular, made an electrifying impact with a 99-yard kickoff return and a 94-yard run, helping his team build momentum. Bo Polston added two key touchdown passes to Hicks as the Hawks overpowered Plainfield.

Bishop Chatard 48, Guerin Catholic 13
A brief power outage delayed the game, but when play resumed Saturday, Bishop Chatard dominated Guerin Catholic. Chatard’s offense was firing on all cylinders, proving too much for Guerin to handle.

    Roncalli 37, Brebeuf Jesuit 18
Despite the rain-soaked conditions on Friday night, Roncalli powered through to beat Brebeuf Jesuit in a game where defense and ground control reigned supreme. Roncalli’s Luke Hansen led the charge, helping his team navigate the tough weather.

    Brownsburg 17, Westfield 13
In a highly anticipated clash between two top-ranked teams, Brownsburg’s defense shined, continuously rising to the occasion. This hard-fought game came down to Brownsburg’s ability to force critical stops when it mattered most.
