New SJC311 App Empowers Citizens to Report Issues in St. Joseph County

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. — In a significant step towards enhancing community engagement, county commissioners have launched SJC311, a new citizen reporting app designed to streamline communication between residents and local government. Commissioner Anthony Hazen introduced the innovative tool during a press conference on Tuesday morning, emphasizing its potential to improve quality of life across the county.

The SJC311 app allows residents to easily report concerns related to roads, code enforcement, and health department issues directly from their smartphones. A key feature of the app is its duplicate detection system, which alerts users if their report has already been submitted, enabling them to follow up on existing requests without redundancy.

“This app is a quality of life enhancement,” said Frank Fotia, Economic Development Planner. “We want to ensure residents can communicate effectively with their government, and this application gives us both the tools to be responsive in real-time.”

Beyond reporting issues, the app also provides quick access to request public records and view local government agendas, fostering transparency and engagement within the community.

Residents can easily download the SJC311 app from both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, marking a new era of civic interaction in St. Joseph County. This innovative approach not only empowers citizens to take an active role in their community but also enhances the government's ability to address concerns efficiently.
