St. Joseph (Montvale) kicks off its 2024 season on Saturday with a home game against St. Frances Academy (Md.), the No. 13-ranked team in the latest USA TODAY Super 25 .

This is the first game for coach Augie Hoffmann in his return to St. Joe's. Hoffmann was the head coach from 2014-19, leading the Green Knights to four state championship games.

St. Joe's enters the season ranked No. 2 in the New Jersey Super 25 . The Green Knights went 2-1 against out-of state opponents last year, beating Christ School (N.C.) and Cass Tech (Mich.) but falling to St. Anthony's (N.Y.).

St. Frances kicked off its season last week with a 44-16 win over Central Catholic (Pa.).

Watch Jahmir Joseph, John Forster, Lamar Best

St. Joseph boasts two player ranked in the top 12 of New Jersey's Class of 2025 by 247Sports.

Defensive back Jahmir Joseph, a Penn State commit, is ranked No. 6, and running back John Forster, a Rutgers commit, is ranked No. 12.

Junior KJ McClain, who was selected to the Preseason All-New Jersey team , joins Joseph in the defensive backfield.

Quarterback Lamar Best, a transfer from Willingboro, also makes his St. Joe's debut.

The St. Frances team is loaded with Division I recruits.

Junior edge rusher Zion Elee, a five-star recruit, is ranked as the No. 2 player nationally in the Class of 2026 by 247Sports

The senior class is full of talent too. Defensive back Blake Woodby, an Auburn commit, is ranked No. 3 in Maryland's Class of 2025 by 247Sports. Fellow Auburn recruit Bryce Deas, a linebacker, is ranked No. 12.

Joining Woodby in the backfield is Byron Baldwin, an Indiana commit, who is ranked No. 5 in Maryland's Class of 2025.
