NEW YORK — Jeff McNeil is dealing with a right wrist contusion after being hit by a pitch in the fifth inning of the Mets' contest with the Reds on Friday night at Citi Field.

The Mets announced that McNeil would undergo further tests on Saturday.

McNeil was hit by a 74.3 mph curveball from Reds left-handed reliever Brandon Williamson. The Mets second baseman initially stayed in the game but was removed by Harrison Bader as a pinch-hitter for his at-bat in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Jose Iglesias, who pinch-hit earlier in the frame, took over at second base.

Check back for more updates on Jeff McNeil's status.
