Read about the teams that stood out last week in Week 1 and let us know which one should be the North Jersey Team of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page.

Voting closes at 5 p.m. Thursday.

    Cliffside Park/Ridgefield

The Raiders’ season-opening 34-13 victory over Ridgefield Park snapped a 13-game losing streak against a longtime rival that dates back to 2006. Jason Marasciulo threw two TD passes to Chris Gregory and ran for two scores. Eddie Schaefer’s 5-yard TD run put them ahead to stay, 13-6.

Joe Yun threw for 160 yards and two TDs and ran for a score. Reed Kauderer ran for 165 yards and two TDs, and DJ Joseph had TDs on a catch and punt return.

    Fair Lawn

Luke Festa caught two TDs, Chase DeLeone caught a TD and had 148 all-purpose yards, and Brenden Godfrey had a TD catch and one of the team’s three interceptions.

The Knights’ season-opening 26-14 win snapped a 10-game losing streak against Hasbrouck Heights dating back to 2004. Luis Placido caught TD passes of 60 and 47 yards from Jerzey Ryan and ran for a score. Kyle Tennant’s 91-yard fumble return for a TD clinched the win in Bill Straub’s return as a head coach.

    Pascack Valley

The Panthers (2-0) snapped Westwood’s North Jersey-leading 14-game winning streak with a 21-7 victory. Adam Shaw opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 4-yard TD pass to Kai Smith. Shaw ran 113 yards and two second-half scores. Kai Smith and Marley Smith had interceptions.
