The Giants were very high on QB Jayden Daniels in the draft, with coach Brian Daboll saying he would trade up for him if given the opportunity. Daniels has to be eyeing a Giants defense as his breakout chance with the way Sam Darnold and the Vikings efficiently disposed of them in Week 1.

Daniel Jones had one of the worst games of his career against Minnesota in Week 1, and he was booed mercilessly. Can he rebound? If the Giants are to do anything offensively, it’s imperative. Sometimes it’s a cliché to put everything on the quarterback, but in this case, Jones needs to facilitate.

Commanders WR Terry McLaurin vs. Giants CB Deonte Banks. Banks, a Baltimore native, has a lot of eyes on him in Commanders country. He battled McLaurin twice as a rookie and things got a bit testy. Banks had his hands full with Justin Jefferson in Week 1, while McLaurin finished with 2 catches on four targets for 17 yards in the opener.

Who wins?

Jones and the Giants have had Washington’s number, but that was under the Ron Rivera/Jack Del Rio regime. Meanwhile, Dan Quinn has gotten the best of the Giants while in Dallas as the DC. The Giants were the only team to not score double digits in Week 1, so until they do, it’s difficult predicting them to win a game.
