The New York Giants (1-2) are on primetime for the first time during the 2024 NFL season as they host the Dallas Cowboys (1-2) on Thursday night.

Despite trailing just 11 seconds into Sunday's game against the Browns, the Giants didn't falter, as rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers had a highlight reel of catches and recorded his first two-touchdown performance in the 21-15 victory over Cleveland.

Meanwhile, it was another defensive disaster for the Cowboys, who dropped their second straight game at home in a 28-25 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Dallas has surrendered at least 190 rushing yards per game over the last two weeks, with Ravens running back Derrick Henry going for 151 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday and Saints RB Alvin Kamara posting 115 yards and three scores in Week 2.

This NFC East rivalry has lately been a one-sided contest with Big Blue not beating Cowboys QB Dak Prescott since they won both regular-season meetings in Prescott's rookie year in 2016.

Our prognosticators throughout the season are: Art Stapleton (Giants/NFL writer, NorthJersey.com), Bert Bainbridge (sports betting analyst/columnist, NorthJersey.com), Steve Edelson (columnist, APP.com), Vince Mercogliano (Rangers/NHL columnist, lohud.com), Brian Marron (digital producer, NorthJersey.com), Chris Iseman (Rutgers writer, NorthJersey.com), Bob Jordan (sports editor, Asbury Park Press/APP.com), and Dave Rivera (sports editor, USA TODAY Northeast/NorthJersey.com).

Here are the standings for our staff members heading into Week 4:

Steve Edelson, Art Stapleton and Vincent Mercogliano: 2-1

Chris Iseman, Bob Jordan and Dave Rivera: 1-2

Bert Bainbridge and Brian Marron: 0-3

Here are our staff predictions for the Giants vs. Cowboys in Week 4:

    Art Stapleton

The pick: Cowboys 23, Giants 17

Here's why: The Cowboys swept the season series with the Giants last season by handing down two embarrassing beatings by a combined score of 89-17. There is an emotional aspect to this, and it will be interesting to see just how many Cowboys fans flood MetLife despite a two-game losing streak. In the end, until the Giants show they can beat Prescott, it’s difficult to go against Dallas in this rivalry. Big Blue has lost six consecutive games to the Cowboys and 13 of 14 with the only win over Prescott going back to when Ben McAdoo was the head coach in 2016, Prescott's rookie year.

    Vince Mercogliano

The pick: Cowboys 31, Giants 19

Here’s why: The Giants responded to the critics with a gut-check win to stave off a dreaded 0-3 start and may be capable of more than we initially anticipated, but this week will be an especially difficult challenge. Not only are the Cowboys just as desperate, having gotten off to their own disappointing 1-2 start, but they've won 13 of the last 14 in this division rivalry, including a pair of victories by a combined 89-17 margin last season. The talent gap seems too wide.

    Bert Bainbridge

The pick: Cowboys 24, Giants 20

Here's why: Yes, it's notable how much of a one-sided affair this divisional showdown has been the past decade. However, there's no denying how bad this Cowboys defense has been through three weeks. Led by Malik Nabers in the receiving game and Devin Singletary on the ground, the G-Men keep this one of the closest contest in almost four years, but Dallas still finds away to get a seventh consecutive victory at MetLife Stadium when QB Dak Prescott starts.

    Steve Edelson

The pick: Cowboys 35, Giants 21

Here’s why: The Cowboys have owned the Giants in recent years, and this is a bounce-back game after losing two straight, and looking terrible against the Ravens.

    Bob Jordan

The pick: Giants 24, Cowboys 14

Here's why: The Cowboys were down 28-6 on Sunday when the Ravens decided to take their foot off of the gas. Dak Prescott's winning streak against the Giants ends after 13 games.

    Brian Marron

The pick: Cowboys 27, Giants 17

Here's why: Dallas owns this series of late, and now the Cowboys will have some desperation to end their current two-game skid. Another loss could put Dallas' season on the rocks, and the until the Giants prove they can consistently beat the Cowboys with Dak Prescott at the helm, it's tough to pick them to win this one.

    Chris Iseman

The pick: Cowboys 30, Giants 21

Here's why: The Giants played well against the Browns and they clearly have a formidable weapon in Malik Nabers. But it's still too early to stay if they can string together consistent performances. After losing two in a row, Dallas will come into this game highly motivated to snap the skid. That won't be the difference-maker but it'll certainly be a factor. Give this one to the Cowboys.

    Dave Rivera

The pick: Cowboys 24, Giants 16

Here's why: If only the Giants and Cowboys could play the Cleveland Browns more this season. But they can't, and the Cowboys have been a disaster the past two weeks in home losses to the Saints and Ravens. Getting out of Jerry World for a week might actually help them. The Giants have also looked bad in their one home game so far this season. Both teams need this one badly in order to stay afloat for now. Dak Prescott hasn't lost to the Giants since 2016, and he finds a way to get it done again Thursday night.
