    VOTE for the North Jersey Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 7-13

    After another exciting week of the high school soccer season, it's time to look back on the best performances.

    Read about the players who stood out last week and let us know who you think should be the North Jersey Player of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page.

    Voting closes at 5 p.m. Thursday.

    Simon Deossa, Clifton

    The junior sent the Mustangs to the Passaic County semifinals by scoring two goals and an assist on Sunday in a 4-2 victory over Wayne Hills. Earlier in the week, he chipped in another two goals and one assist when Clifton beat Bergen Tech.

    Leland Gonzalez, Garfield

    The Boilermakers picked up another three wins last week and the senior forward had multi-point games in all of them. He registered four goals and six assists overall.

    LJ Renshaw, Indian Hills

    The Braves' senior turned in a perfect week in net by shutting out Westwood, Mahwah and Bergen Charter to extend his team's win streak to five games. Renshaw saved all 23 shots on the week.

    Julian Ruehlemann, Waldwick

    The senior racked up two goals and an assist on Sunday when the 20th seed upset No. 13 Cliffside Park, 3-0, in the opening round of the Bergen County tournament. It topped off a big week for Ruehlemann who accounted for seven goals and two assists and fired in the winner in a pivotal 1-0 league victory over Emerson.

    Alexis Kochan, DePaul

    The junior fueled the Spartans to another three-win week by putting five goals and two assists on the board. She now has points in nine of 11 matches this season.

    Maya Showfety, Fair Lawn

    The freshman led her team to back-to-back shutouts over Big North Independence rivals West Milford and Lakeland. She made eight saves against the Highlanders and seven against the Lancers.

    Lizzie Rubin, Ramsey

    The sophomore helped her team stay undefeated and lock up the league title in the Big North Patriot. Rubin had a total of two goals and three assists in wins over Mahwah and Pascack Hills.
