The Jets are currently without one of their key veteran starters on defense.

Veteran safety Chuck Clark left the game with an ankle injury in the first half of Monday night's game versus the Bills. Here's what we know:

    Chuck Clark injury update

Chuck Clark has been ruled out for the rest of tonight's game with an ankle injury, according to the broadcast.

He went down with an ankle injury in the first half with the Jets trailing 7-3 at the time.

Clark was in on the Bills' first touchdown drive late in the first quarter and had not returned since that drive.

Who is Chuck Clark's backup on Jets depth chart?

Clark's backup is Ashtyn Davis, who was in coverage on the Bills go-ahead touchdown midway through the second quarter with the Clark not on the field.

The Jets also have veteran safeties Isaiah Oliver and Jalen Mils on the roster.

    Chuck Clark stats

Clark was already making his presence known early in this one, total four tackles (one solo) while he was on the field.

This season, the 29-yard-old safety has 28 total tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and fumble recovery in five games played.

Clark signed with the Jets in 2023 but suffered a torn ACL last June, forcing his Jets' debut to wait until Week 1 of this season.

He spent the first six years of his career with the Baltimore Ravens.
