BOWLING GREEN — Following a national search, Bowling Green State University has selected Wael Mokhtar as dean for the College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering.

Mr. Mokhtar is director of the School of Engineering at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich. As director, he has led student recruitment and retention initiatives, developed new engineering degree programs, and led two successful accreditations through the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.

He holds a doctorate in aerospace engineering from Old Dominion University and is a professor of mechanical engineering at GVSU. His research interests include computational fluid dynamics, wind tunnel testing, vehicle aerodynamics, and teaching methods.

He will join BGSU in July and will succeed Kendall Harris, who has served as interim dean since August.
