Multiple county offices in One Government Center closed mid-day Wednesday after a bed bug was found in the auditor’s office on the sixth floor.

According to an email from Lucas County Auditor Katie Moline, the office was immediately closed Wednesday morning when they found a lone bed bug. The office was being closed to allow crews to fumigate as soon as possible.

After that announcement, the county Recorder’s Office and the county Treasurer’s Office also announced they would be closing for the day. The recorder’s office is one floor above the auditor’s office, while the treasurer’s office is one floor below.

Officials at all three offices expect to resume normal operations at 8 a.m. Thursday.

The building is owned by the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority.

They got bed bugs at the nurses station while I was there, all they did was cover their chairs with plastic garbage bags 🤷🏻‍♀️ couldn't wait to get out of there. haves and have not. they seen 1 bug and shut down 3 floors?? must be nice 😒
