Luna Pier Road bridge over I-75 to reopen

LUNA PIER, Mich. — The Luna Pier Road bridge over I-75 will reopen Thursday by 5 p.m. after being closed since late last fall for reconstruction, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced.

The bridge’s replacement is part of an ongoing, $126 million I-75 reconstruction project between just south of the Luna Pier interchange in Erie Township and a point just north of Otter Creek in LaSalle Township.

The southbound I-75 exits at both South Otter Creek Road (Exit 9) and Luna Pier (Exit 6) remain closed for ramp reconstruction, while I-75 is narrowed to two lanes each way through the zone. The overall project is scheduled for completion in November.
