BOWLING GREEN — The Cocoon, Wood County’s comprehensive domestic and sexual violence advocacy center and emergency shelter, has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Gordon Flesch Charitable Foundation.

Since 2002, the foundation has given more than $2.4 million to nonprofits. The Cocoon received funding to help increase safety for survivors and their children.

More than 900 survivors reach out to Cocoon advocates each year for emergency safe shelter, safety planning, and support, which is available around the clock.

For more information about the Cocoon, visit thecocoon.org or call 419-373-1730.
