Lourdes University to host book launch for alumnus Tim Berta

Lourdes University will hold a book launch of Fielder’s Choice, a memoir by alumnus Tim Berta, who was injured in the Bluffton University baseball team bus crash in 2007.

Mr. Berta, a Lourdes graduate and former college athlete, shares his journey in a memoir that delves into the challenges he faced following the life-altering event. The crash claimed the lives of five teammates, the bus driver, and his wife. Mr. Berta sustained catastrophic injuries and was initially told he would never recover.

The book launch will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Franciscan Center, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania. Lourdes alumna Chrys Peterson will emcee the event, which will include a talk by and book signing with the author.

Tickets range from $30 to $50. A portion of the proceeds will support student scholarships.
