Later programs focus on the themes learn and serve.

At 7 p.m. Oct. 8, New York Times columnist David Brooks will speak about his book How to Know a Person at the Franciscan Center, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania. Tickets will go on sale in September.

The community is encouraged to make intentional acts of kindness in the week leading up to the Nov. 5 election, to encourage positivity, lower the temperature, and be good neighbors.

A final event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Glass City Metropark enrichment center to reflect on renewed visions of community and friendship.
