Jackson Jobe, the top pitching prospect in baseball was promoted to Triple-A Toledo on Saturday for the home stretch of the Mud Hens’ season.

Jobe, 22, was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 draft, and is ranked as the No. 7 overall prospect according to mlb.com.

He spent most of the 2024 minor league season with Double-A Erie, logging 73⅔ innings, a 1.95 ERA, and 81 strikeouts in 16 starts with the SeaWolves. In his most recent start Thursday, Jobe went seven innings — a career high — allowing a run on three hits, two walks with eight strikeouts in a win against the Reading Fightin Phils.

After Saturday, the Mud Hens have 13 games remaining in the 2024 season. They are in Omaha to face the Storm Chasers in a six-game series beginning Tuesday.

Toledo closes the season with a homestand against Columbus Sept. 17-22.
