In some communities, new tax money is being requested.

Freedom Township, a three-year, 1-mill levy for expenses and a five-year, 1-mill levy for fire and EMS.

Troy Township, a three-year, 1.8-mill levy for ambulance services.

Additionally, the Whistle Stop Pizza Pub and Grill in North Baltimore is asking for Sunday sales, a local liquor option.

The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 7.

Absentee voting by mail begins Oct. 8 and ends Nov. 4.
